'm not usually big on shabby chic, Parisian flea-market, or "rustic" design type - at least not in my own work. I enjoy looking at, even designing, but not living in rooms and vignettes as often feel the rustic/shabby part goes too far - such as eating off a repurposed old table, or shabby chic furniture in the kitchen. Not sure why, maybe it's because of the thousands of splinters I've had to painfully extract over the years, or wearing masks when sanding down old lead paint, but the thought of flaking paint and splintered wood anywhere near my food just gives me the heebeejeebies. However, the looks are nostalgic and I'm slowly gaining a new appreciation for them. However, the looks are nostalgic and I'm slowly gaining a new appreciation for them. One of my favorite sites for pictures of rustic chic is The Fancy Farmgirl - gorgeous photos.
Then today I saw a contest for a $25 giveaway via another blog I like at "Before Meets After" and she featured this Etsy shop - look at these fun, fab fabrics!
